Fort Worth rent prices in 2026: typical rent now edges past Dallas

Fort Worth's typical rent is $1,615 a month as of August 2026, according to RentDataNow data built on the Zillow Observed Rent Index. It's up 0.6% from a year earlier and about 17% below the national typical rent of $1,948, which leaves Fort Worth renters paying roughly $330 a month less than the national typical.

The apartment-size figures are estimates based on HUD fair market rents for the area. A two-bedroom at about $1,699 is roughly what the citywide typical rent buys, and a third bedroom adds about $550 more.
